Dear Smith Family,
I would like to express my deepest Condolences and Prayers. My name is Cassandra Hollis and I had the pleasure of meeting your dear mother, grandmother and loved one, Ms. Thelma, shortly after the premiere of my short film, "Mattie, Johnny and Smooth White Stones: Part III," that I produced and starred in. Ms. Thelma saw the film, which was about a couple escaping on the Underground Railroad, and subsequently contacted me, speaking very kindly and highly about my performance, the movie, and the overall story and history of the UGRR. After that initial conversation, Ms. Thelma would call on occasion to chat and it was such fun to hear her tell stories of her research, work and study of African American history.
As former producer of a talk show on a local Atlanta tv station, I was contacted by that station in 2012 about whether I knew any special senior citizens who could be potential guests on an episode called, "Seniors Today". I immediately thought of Ms. Thelma and reached out to her and daughter Linda to see if this would be of interest. They accepted the invite and Ms. Thelma was a shining star on the show! I cherish those memories and she will be greatly missed! Her legacy lives on through all of you. God Bless you! Matthew 5:5, Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Thank you so much Cassandra for those Beautiful words and memories. Mom enjoyed speaking at the local Atlanta tv station and we will always cherish those memories. I found a few pictures from that day and I will post! Luv Ya!❤️
